I really wanted to mount these 43" long color palette strips on black. But I'm trying to lighten up, so I am forcing myself to work with this fabulous Kona bone cotton. Only two of palette strips have their white sides actually sewn on. But I am loving how all the colors are popping in contrast to the light background. After being so up in the air about what to do with these great color palette strips, I'm glad to have finally seen the light.

This is so funny. I bought the charm squares from Jinny Beyer, and this is one of my next projects! And for this bed-sized quilt, I will work on black.
Ohmygosh I love your rainbow of little fabric pieces! I think you're right about the lighter color instead of the black. How big will this quilt be?
This wall quilt will be about 48" x 30" and will go on the blank wall above my sewing machine table. The link is the first comment is one of the things I'm working on next, and that will definitely go on a black background. I can't wait to quilt this!
I think the general tendency to do a dark background on these is because light and dark are not equally represented in the strips themselves. Dark far predominates.
I wonder what one of the medium tones would do for this. Have you ever done an experimental layout that way?
